Southside Community United For Change, Inc.
Established November 2013, SCUC encompasses over 6,292 households and approximately 16,000 residents in the 61605 zip code area. The organization’s purpose is to enhance the livability of the Southside area by developing partnerships with community stakeholders to educate residents and implement sustainable activities and programs that address neighborhood problems and concerns.

SCUC provides a vehicle in which ALL members may actively involve themselves in the affairs of the neighborhood. SCUC is one of nearly 100 neighborhood organizations (Directory 10/2005) in the City of Peoria. SCUC provides a way for Southside residents to become involved in neighborhood and city issues, starting with their neighborhood. A “single” voice may only get a few results on a neighborhood issue, but a “collective” voice can have a huge impact on securing resources for the Southside community.
